INTEROFFICE MEMORANDUM

TO: ALL TEACHERS

FROM: PRINCIPAL NIGEL BLOCH

SUBJECT: IMPLANTS CAUSING CLASSROOM DISRUPTION

DATE: 04/07/2188

CC: POLICY ADMINISTRATOR, SHEFFIELD DISTRICT

It has come to my attention that we have had a spate of disruptions in classrooms due to non-classroom oriented use of student biocontinutity implants. Technology causing issues in the classrooms is hardly a new issue, much as teachers of previous centuries had to deal with calculators, laptops and PIMphones, this generation of teachers cross to bear is clearly the implant.

First off, unlike some of the more vicious talk in the teachers lounge, we do not have the option of banning implant technology and "Putting the buggers out of our misery" and the District and this office frowns on such talk.

The district is looking into a technological solution to the problem which consists of a transmitter which you can put in a room that only allows the biocontinutity functions (which cannot be turned off anyhow) of a students implant to work and not the text chatting, music playing or document retrieval functions. This also disables the use of camera technology in the student's implants but preserves the audio recording capabilities of the device. Additionally, teachers will be given personalized circumvention codes to allow for the full functioning of the teachers implant.

This action will not affect the use of the implant as a source for classroom projection, but we have not seen this as being a problem, you can send any student that tries to take over a class to this degree to my office so that he or she may be dealt with via the regular disciplinary means.

Conveniently, the in school implant management solution will also relieve you of attendance and daily syllabus update duties, allowing more time for teaching and less for the trivia that seems to bog a classroom down. Additionally, the system allows for teachers to access records so that they can plan appropriately for those labs and experiments and thus reduce the costs of said labs materials. Any questions about these modifications can be presented to me at the next principal's breakfast on the 9th of this month.

Due to district budget shortfalls, this system will be installed sometime next semester, in the meantime, use whatever disciplinary tools are at your disposal to deal with the problem, including but not limited to detention, additional homework and humiliation timeouts.
