Incidences of Global Violence on the Rise APR DATAWIRE SPECIAL REPORT January 30th, 2191 - Pakistan and India. Russia and her Rebel provinces. East Africa. Southeast Asia. Colombia and Venezuela. The US and Mexico. Violence has been spreading the world over, with many ethnic and religious groups in a desperate race to do away with as many of their historical enemies as possible before personality transition programs become ubiquitous and thus giving their enemies immortality. In eastern and southern Africa, disputes thought long settled have risen to the fore, with tribes doing whatever they can to end the lives of their perceived enemies. In a shocking act of violence, the Fulani tribe planted explosives on the PT reception towers and methodically killed every man, woman and child in an east African village, systematically taking the data storage capsules from the implants and throwing them into the ocean. In the Americas, where higher density reception towers are more difficult to avoid, individual murder is more the norm, but in the less developed countries and areas, mass murder is still possible and when instantaneous transportation was introduced, many people found themselves face to face with their "enemies". It isn't just murder on people's minds: bombings and other attacks on infrastructures have threatened a number of major municipalities recently, with the recent, very public, failed attack on New York City's water supply infrastructure only being the most recent. Paris, London, Bangalore and Buenos Aires have all been subject to similar attacks on water, power, reconstitution and teleportation systems, some successful, like that which plunged London into darkness for a full week last May, some not. Noted sociologist Dr. Hans Landell has dubbed this kind of trouble: "Diffusion Violence" referring to the mixing of humanity that is happening thanks to PT and teleportation technology. Dr. Landell has noted that: "The deadline for these killings seems to coinciding with the ever increasing coverage of the biocontinuity network. In society after society we've seen similar patterns, with increased incidences of violence advancing along the event horizon of the coverage areas of the PT network." When asked about the increase in violence, a spokesperson for the United Nations Committee on Biocontinuity said "It's important to compare the death rate with that of only 5 years ago, if you look at that number, you'll see that overall human casualties are being dramatically reduced thanks to the advent of personality transition. In spite of the isolated patches of violence, the world is a much safer place thanks to the PT network, people are functionally immortal and with time and proper administration of the network, we expect these incidences of 'diffusion' violence to dissipate." When asked if the UNCB had a plan for dealing with these problems, Ms. Pennington added, "We do, we plan on instituting a program of what we are calling Geographically Complementary Death, where we have the reconstitution network in these troubled regions detect who else might be in the area and preemptively terminate them to avoid the theft of the data storage element from their victims implant. This will allow UNCB agents to collect the units and ensure biocontinuity. I can assure you that the offenders will face a hefty fine along with their failure to execute, as it were."
